The classics! I could watch these videos all day. I promise I'll update the selection soon... I know I've been top heavy on Hector Lavoe lately... but I just love the style. Nowdays, you see people just up and go for it from the start. But, what I enjoy about this performance is how they hold it back and wait until the right moment.
It's like watching an old kung fu flick. They hero is minding his own business, doing his own thing. But when the bad guys move in and surround him, you know its about to go down. Thats how I feel when the coro singers step up to the mic at 1:55. I also like how none of these guys are fronting for the camera. They aren't trying to be seen or get their picture on the TV. They are just JAMMING.
La Voz was the man. I'm really nervous about the upcoming biopic with J-Lo and Marc Anthony. Marc Anthony might be skinny enough to play Hector Lavoe, but is he heavy enough? Lord knows his skills fall FAR short of El Cantante. And Lavoe lived a rough life. But, maybe Anthony will prove me wrong. After all, even attempting to play HL takes guts.
