10th annual Latin Jazz Festival

A lot has changed since mambo legend Tito Puente banged his drums loudly 10 years ago at the first Brownsville Latin Jazz Festival.
“Back then, most people in Brownsville didn’t even know who Tito Puente was or what Latin Jazz was,” said George Ramirez, director of the Brownsville Society for the Performing Arts.
Now, he said, people can’t get enough of it.
