Students Dance Salsa to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Sixth-graders at Weeks Middle School on Des Moines' south side got to sample the flavor of a different kind of salsa last week when professional dancer Ruben Zamudio III visited their school.
School officials brought in Zamudio to help students observe Hispanic Heritage Month and learn a new way to stay active and in shape.
Learning how to dance in the Caribbean and Cuban styles of merengue and salsa was popular among the roughly 250 students who took part in the instruction.
